La Roche-Posay has been working closely with dermatologists to pioneer dermatology since the brand started in 1975.
La Roche-Posay has since conducted more than 600 clinical studies on patients ageing from newborn up to 104 years old. The clinical studies have been carried out on more than 90,000 patients of varied skin pathologies, such as acne, allergic skin, eczema, under cancer treatment, wounds and post-esthetic treatment.
La Roche-Posay is now working on various tech projects.
In 2016 the first stretchable skin sensor was created by La Roche-Posay. The sensor is able to monitor UV exposure.
In 2019, La Roche-Posay launched Effaclar Spotscan, a web application co-developed by dermatologists and artificial intelligence to analyse acne-prone skin and provide personalised advice and recommendations.
Additionally, the brand introduced My Skin Track UV in partnership with Apple, a battery-free wearable sensor and companion app to measure UV, pollution, pollen and humidity exposure and provide personalised advice.
