Skinceuticals was founded in 1994 by world renowned scientist and dermatologist Dr Sheldon Pinnell, who was one of the pioneers of Vitamin C and its application to human skin. He underwent medical training at two major Ivy League universities, Harvard and Yale University.
His interest in skincare was predominantly related to vitamin C, and solidified patents involving this crucial ingredient. It has a strong anti-ageing property, which helps to minimise fine lines, wrinkles and pigment. He has numerous studies to his name some of which are peer reviewed. Unfortunately he passed away in 2013.
It was in 1997 that Skinceuticals launched its first antioxidant product, a pure vitamin C. Since then, the brand has continually to push skincare boundaries and in 2004 a triage of advice was born - Prevent, Protect and Correct. Products have evolved and improved and today there is a clinically proven collection of products which can transform and improve patients' skin.
Skinceuticals is now owned by Loreal, who have continued Dr Pinnells innovation by employing the very best scientists within the cosmeceutical field. It is the leading cosmeceutical brand in the USA, giving customers heathy, glowing skin whilst minimising any imperfections.
All Skinceutical products utilise perfect concentrations of ingredients which are active on the skin surface. The products contain low concentrations of fragrance, dyes and perfumery. The triage of advice founded in 2004 has now evolved into a five step process:
1.Cleanse + Tone
This range includes gel cleansers, cream cleansers and toners containing botanical extracts amongst other premium ingredients.
Products which have been proven to minimise ageing, fine lines and wrinkles.
Correcting products for pigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles.
Nourish and hydrate the skin through these B5 serums, hyaluronic acid serums and thicker moisturisers.
Selection of broad spectrum SPF which provide a premium finish to the skin whilst providing superior protection.
Skinceucticals are proud to have removed all animal testing decades ago.
The majority of skinceutical products are contained within glass bottles which are completely recyclable.
